Promise I - prelude
She runs, with all her heart, to the tall trees;
She skips across the meadow; her delight
Is tangible – she’s eating air – she sees
The stars shine out above – eternity
Seems brighter when she loses all control;
She lets exhilaration rule her roost;
When running on the grass, she’s like a foal
Who’s graceful, full of wonder; she can boost
Her own morale; she floats across the fields
And finds her destination is desire
To see things differently, as she yields
To new perspectives; and the pricks of fire,
High in the midnight sky, will play their part,
As she runs on with promise in her heart.
She skips across the meadow; her delight
Is tangible – she’s eating air – she sees
The stars shine out above – eternity
Seems brighter when she loses all control;
She lets exhilaration rule her roost;
