Place In The Earth

I remember days
We would talk
All night till the day came
Ran away when I saw your dad
Because he always scared me
Talked with your mom, she was cool
Think she always knew how I felt about you
Went to your school, watching you
As you played volleyball
Every glance making me smile so happily

She is one with the earth
Grows with the trees
Burns with the stars
Looks down on me
Can still hear her voice
And see her in my dreams…

I remember days
Riding bikes
To the local convenience store
Falling down, scraped my knee
But played it off like it didn’t hurt
Stood up for me, against bullies
Always too shy to do this myself
Wish I knew about you
And your own dark depression
Still, I blame myself for never trying to find out

She is one with the earth
Grows with the trees
Burns with the stars
Looks down on me
Can still hear her voice
And see her in my dreams…

I remember sad days
And long nights
Because I told you I’ll never forget
Felt foolish how I would cry in my bed
But I know we all seek peace in our own ways
Hope that you found yours on that day
Guess we all reach a point where we seek no answers
I would like to think we’ll all so special
Like we all have a place in the earth
