Philosophical Discussions With a Sleeping Dog
Sipping coffee from an oversized mug
Contemplating the morning walk
And its repercussions on the sound of cars
Pressing into my heart,
Singing their chaos melody
Like contemporary piles of art
Invisible to my naked eyes;
Lewdly exposed,
Nude but composed,
Seeking erotic symphonies
Ignoring the painful sting of bees
Focusing on caged bird fantasies
As the sky pushes light through the window.
Buzzing turns into stripes and wings
But less a honey maker and more a wasp
Crawling across the window shade.
The dog stands up and click-clicks away
As I rinse out the pot in the sink
And move on to other things.
