Crevices of my Cortex
fall through crevices of my cortex
onto Pegasus while I reflect
as a knot unties my mind
peals of thunder
drop ideas up under
repelling counter-clockwise in time
they fall, splash and scuttle
into Polaroids of puddles
forcing flashbacks to ripple
of Halloween costumes
and Saturday morning cartoons
when the world was so simple
celebrating kickball home runs
and no chrome guns
when we rumbled
no courtrooms or attorneys
zooming on a journey
through bicycle jungle
guzzling freeze pops
our bliss rustling tree tops
floating in foot races
conspire how to survive
Michael Meyers alive
ignorance wrote across our faces
scribbled on the rafters
where I keep chapters
of a childhood
above the lab in
my mental cabin
pages stack like piled wood...
onto Pegasus while I reflect
as a knot unties my mind
peals of thunder
drop ideas up under
repelling counter-clockwise in time
they fall, splash and scuttle
into Polaroids of puddles
forcing flashbacks to ripple
of Halloween costumes

....good googly goo!! This was insanely brilliant Dean! Your work always leave me awestruck! The way you puppeteer your words in ways most people can't, stands out, like 3-D.

Amazing!

Ahhh . . . The simplicity of what was and what if now
is so heavily infused with angst and hardcore reality,
they can hardly find a place where they can mesh., eh
maybe it just really isn't supposed to be (or not to be)
that's not a question.

If I was a rap fan, I would compare your eloquent words to Tupac Shakur. As it is my reference is "My Back Pages" by Bob Dylan

You got rhyme and rhythm flowing effortlessly and then infuse some great imagery..i felt i was tumbling in the twilight zone of traveling backwards in time.
I really enjoyed this Dean. Masterfully crafted.
