The Hawk And Dove
My love came to me
On a winters day,
She betrayed me today
On the bed I lay.
She wondered
Through my sadness
An uninvited visitor
In black
A pallbearer
With a rotten heart
My soul's dripping caucus
Bleeding from your attack.
My love took me to the river
I died without saying words
I gaze into her honey brown eyes
She says
"We are tadpoles
Lost in the tides of the moon
We remain lost in folds
Of our own individual folly
Im sorry"
She devours me.
She is a Hawk
The predator
And i was once a Dove
Her prey,
She is war
Where I was once peace,
She laughs triumphantly
As my life signs cease.
My lover murdered me
On a winters day
She betrayed our love
On this bed of dirt
I lay.
On a winters day,
She betrayed me today
On the bed I lay.
She wondered
Through my sadness
An uninvited visitor
In black
