Habitual Love
Accustomed to the noise of your potent presence
You’ve stained my skin with your ocean eyes
Those tidal wave hands sculpted me into a gentile strength
These subtleties entwined in my memories
Memories with the toughest bark
Even those are worn down by fast flowing rivers
Life’s certainty is the uncertain
But each tree is shaped from its habitat
And right now I want my habitat to be you
You’ve stained my skin with your ocean eyes
Those tidal wave hands sculpted me into a gentile strength
These subtleties entwined in my memories
Memories with the toughest bark
Even those are worn down by fast flowing rivers
Life’s certainty is the uncertain
But each tree is shaped from its habitat
And right now I want my habitat to be you
