shadow serenade
because who knew that the light was so cold
because who knew that even the void doesn’t listen
sometimes all you have to do is sit alone
and you know that nobody will come and sit with you
suicide’s an answer. it’s not the time for that path.
so all you do is sit alone and ask yourself why
but you know that the forests are quiet, the world is with you
the shadows hide from the cold light, but they’re just as unknown as you
perhaps that’s where home is
even if you’ve never felt at home
even if it’s never felt right
maybe the shadows will hold you tight in their lullaby
