"...Snoop Dogg -vs- Snoop Lion..."
Hello, Ladies and Gentlemen of our beloved DUP! Now, what I'm about to express to yaw fine folks, is a piece I'd like to dedicate to all these talented individuals, who've managed to obtain success, but has let the fame and fortune go straight to their heads with outrageously crazy ideals...Like changing one's stage name will somehow make them greater or what not...I don't get it and I know I'm not the only one to think this shit! And although, some of the points and opinions I make, may be taken the wrong way, and some may not share my sense of humor,and some may not even get it, I'm sure of it, but does the negativity deter or scare me? No, not one Damn bit, I assure yaw because I know there'll be many who will get a kick out of this, laugh hysterically, or just a little bit of chuckling, and yaw know what? That, is really all I can ask for.
Now, these silly thoughts that entered my mind was when I was high, of course...What?! Never said I was perfect! But as they took root and sunk in, they grew, and evolved into this well put, well worded, little short story before yaw right now...And as you're reading these words I've written, purely, for yaws entertainment, please, don't take it seriously, and be kind still..I believe I've written with crystal clarity, and a strong conviction, which probably won't be taken seriously, hopefully, for I'm just trying to be funny, and maybe crack a few smiles, at least, and show yaw fellow writers and poets, that I have other things I think about besides what I usually write...These thoughts are my opinions, and the keyword is, "mine", you know, and I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything like that. I'm merely hoping that everyone knows I'm not for real, for real being serious, and to take it as it is...a twisted sense of humor expressing itself... The way my thoughts processed this information is quite hilarious, at least, to me, and if nobody gets it, or don't think I'm funny, it is ok, because when it's all written and done, I'm the one who came up with this piece of genius, and that's all that matters, in the scheme of things...Right? Fuckin' right! And you know what else? Why I can do what I do like no other? Why, it's simple...I'm a motha-fuckin' fly P.I.M.P. aka Pretty Intellectual Made Perfectly, in case yaw didn't know this!..........Naw, no, I'm not! Silly's, nobody's perfect... ;) <3
But onto the subject of discussion...First and foremost, music is another passion of mine's, in case inquiring mind's wanted to know... R&B, jazz, blues, country, alternative, rock, classical, hip hop, hell, basically I dig it all. Music is and can be very powerful, influencing millions, billions everyday. And so, this certain musician/rapper/entertainer, who is the main subject of this...who is internationally known...who has been on top of his game, terrorizing it with his skillful wordplay, creating "Fa-shizzle, my nizzle!" and doing bangin' collabs--one, for example, with the late great Tupac Shakur, Gansta Partying and shit. Well guys, frankly, I'm disappointed in Snoop Dogg...for he has done something un-fuckin'believable, I tell you! Truthfully, it's insane, when I think more about it, and yes I said it, AND I mean it, 'cause it's Crazy, that the Snoop D. O. double G., now would rather be called by another name!! How can he even think of doing such a thing?! And to Snoop Lion?! I mean, Dogg, you couldn't come up with say...um, Nothing, perhaps, and keep the name we hip hop fans fell in love with from the start?! I hate to say it, I do, and be the mean one here, and openly admit that the Dogg, might be going through that mid-life crisis, 'cause that's a bit drastic a change to make, don't yaw agree? Hey, yaw know good Dogg-gone well yaw do!
Honestly, the way I feel about well known celebrities changing their names, is, why? What the fuck for?! It makes 0 sense to me. Before this Lion change, was Prince, with his "Symbol", formally known as...yeah, and also known as, fuckin' crazy as a bat. I mean, what in God's Great Universe, was he using?! Another, Puff Daddy to Puffy to P-Diddy to Daddy Puff or Papa Smurf or some such, hell I don't know which he prefers being called, but he was having trouble deciding between Any of them, obviously...Hell, he probably don't even care...And the last one I'm a mention just 'cause, it cracks me up, too, L'il Bow Wow, D. O., no, forgive me, Snoop Lion's nephew, or whatever, I can't remember at the moment precisely, but yep, just Bow Wow, now...it doesn't even sound the same, like seriously, it doesn't roll off the tongue quite the same... That's all I'm trying to say. Why change something that was great just as is? I cannot comprehend the decision making process there...I mean, your famous, famously known, right? And then just to shake things up, to keep the people on they toes, I'm guessing? Who the hell knows, exactly, what be in they mind's? Besides, a whole lot of crazy...
The main one, though, that has flabbergasted me the most, is this now called Snoop Lion...dude...He must be smoking a little way too much, I'm thinking...Better yet, someone get a certified specialist to evaluate that noggin of his; cat-scan, possibly, 'cause his actions don't make sense, at least, to me. Oh, and maybe he should be screened for other drugs not prescribed, 'cause he may just need to go to rehab. I Know T.H.C. I Know green won't have you changing your name, is all I'm saying...Hey, that would be out of this world, if I were to be right about all this, that our Snoop, has been hiding a long time addiction for years, and I finally put the pieces together... Yes, Mr. Snoop, you've been found out by none other but I, 2b-or-Not2b-loved, a Lady Lyricist... Yep and a sassy, sexy, and seriously sensational and superb, writer of poetry, a word player, simply put, yes that's all me, in a nutshell... But Mr. Snoop Dogg, has influenced me growing up..Him and a few others, that haven't changed their names; thank Sweet Jesus! are the reasons I began writing poetry, at 11 or 12 yrs, I'd say... And I know he will probably never read this....but for him to change Snoop Doggy Dogg, well truth be told, he hurt me, yes my Snoop Snoop...(my nickname, for him) ;).. He did knock me out with that and not in a good way...
Lion? Snoop Lion...really? Really, Dogg? Come on, change it back, please? Pretty please, with all the toppings, I'm begging...because honestly, dogg, the lion part, is not gonna and never will work... I'm sorry for sounding insensitive and mean, but tough love never hurt anybody!
Well, to be honest, he will always be Snoop Dogg to me, even if he changes it again... But he should be proud to carry that name to his grave!! Who else could possibly be known as The Original D. O. double Gizzle, though? I mean, fa-rizzle, my nizzles? That's right, Nobody, absolutely none! He is one of the Originals. He was the one who made it cool to be called a "Dogg", a term of endearment to some, I'm sure. Snoop, he started anew revolution, a new generation, now for all Doggs any and every where, pure-breds, mutts, strays alike, all coming together, of all colors and sizes, big and small; howling, barking, sniffing stuff, and humping... Hey, yaw shoulda known that was coming!...All tail's happily wagging, for Snoop! Yes, Snoop the D. O. double G. brought all of this to be and for so Damn long we've known him as such, that he will always be...

It was a few years back when he made that change but I agree ... It was ill advised. He did it to embrace Jamaica and the rasta culture but just listening to the "new" name and it can be ripped as ...
