trapped
Looking back on a time and place
[/font]Seeing a child's innocent face
[/font]Knowing that things aren't as they appear
[/font]For inside she cries silent tears
[/font]Deep inside she is filled with pain
[/font]She feels dirty and full of shame
[/font]Innocence lost at a very young age
[/font]Locked this child in a pain filled cage
[/font]There is no freedom or escape
[/font]From the fact this child was raped
[/font]While the guilty man is roaming free
[/font]This child is sentenced to eternity
[/font]Eternity locked away with all this shame
[/font]She can't help but feel that she was to blame
[/font]Even though common sense says it was not her fault
[/font]She can't seem to help from having these thoughts
[/font]What ifs' keep running through her mind
[/font]She keeps going back to those moments in time
[/font]If there isn't something different she could have done
[/font]Why didn't she scream or at least try to run
[/font]Fear kept her frozen to the spot
[/font]While this grown man did what he should have not
[/font]Shame and fear made her keep the silence
[/font]Kept her telling anyone about the violence
[/font]The thing that is shocking beyond belief
[/font]Is that this child could not get any relief
[/font]The same thing happened again and again
[/font]The first one was just how it began[/font]
