I thought that what I wanted
was for you to feel my pain
But I've learned there's nothing to gain
from sharing the feeling of being haunted
So even when I want to throw
everything right back at you
I remind myself that I got through
and now I'm ready to let go
Just one last reminder
Next time you're in this situation
try to be a little bit kinder
Because you can never really know
how much you might mean
to the one who's watching you go
