“Apple in an Orchard”
Life is like apples in an orchard.
It has its high points at some times,
But seems to fall in others;
Some of the apples were sourer than others
When they tried to knock down another, because
Of its color or if it did not swing like it did;
Maybe it did not like the other ones position on the tree,
And maybe it wanted to get rid of it,
By getting rid of the seedlings before they are big,
But falling off in the process;
Two other apples are bruised in the time
Learning more lessons as they go on,
Remembering the things that have happened in their short existence,
All the apples that had grown,
The ones that had fell;
Their lives bitter sweet until the winter comes.
When the snow blankets them with eternal sleep;
Then the spring comes with new ones to grow.
Will the new ones learn to do what the rest did not?
Whittle they get along in harmony, they may never know.
