Adverse Affects

A night in the bar to celebrate thirty,
many beers later feeling
    tired.
blindly walking, "keep off the grass!"
staggering, stumbling falls flat on
    face.
Unceremonious thud, falls into bed
unrelenting, pounding inside
    the doorway.
Room-mate has returned, lost door key
turns on light, makes it easier to
    locate plant pot
over the limit, going to be sick
fetch a bucket, better make it...
    too late.
Both pass out, had way too much
not just beers but shots and
    cocktails.
wakes up, mouth like a bear trap
aching head and feels like
    having a fried breakfast.
Must be alert and ready for school,
does not want to look like a
    person in agony.
act professional, there must be no clue
for the class full of students, if only they
    saw the previous evening's events
They would admire and proudly proclaim
given the chance they'd do exactly the
    opposite.
