Gone too soon.
Her career shone bright
Like the moon,
And like the moon
She has gone away
Until the sun sets
On another day
And she shall rise again
To dwell
Amongst the world then.
She was a star
But she was never clueless.
She was by far
One of the most talented actresses
Seen or heard.
She could charm the masses
Without having to say a word.
It is a shame
That her career was interrupted
At the height of her fame.
No one saw it coming.
It is a sin really
That the years
To come were denied her talent to see
Except in images from the past.
She is gone, but the
Work she left behind shall last
To be viewed and replayed –
No tickets bought
Once admission is paid.
The tears
Still arise
These many years since.
Time does indeed heal,
But that is no recompense
For a shining star that burns no more.
Everyone dies;
Life is a terminal disease.
There is no drug or pill –
No cure –
In the end, it takes who it please,
As sure
As the sun dost rise tomorrow
With its grief
And its sorrow.
Life is brief
In the grand scheme,
As a fallen leaf
Or a simple dream.
Not every performer gets an encore.
That is life,
So it goes.
Full of strife
And full of woes.
