If marriage isn't the goal, then I don't know why you're in a relationship;

I also don't know why you're shacking up and bearing children outside of marriage.  
   
Tom met Sandy on a beautiful Sunday afternoon after attending church service, they introduced themselves and conversed as they both walked to the parking lot. They exchanged phone numbers and for several months Tom and Sandy were inseparable. Their newfound relationship was one of a magical tale, everyone in their church family was excited at the prospect that one day they would wed in the church bringing forth into fruition the sermon Pastor Murphy preached that fateful day the two met. Tom was the kind of guy who attended church every Sunday and after two failed marriages which bore him 3 children was attempting to live his life the Bible way. This type of strict living was hard for Tom and like the fall of Adam, Tom fell often, in fact Tom fell every single day while in his relationship with Sandy and indulged in all the carnal pleasures his pastor said was reserved only for people in the union of marriage. Sandy on the other hand was the complete opposite of Tom, she attended church whenever she felt things were going horribly wrong in her life and needed to hear the word of God for spiritual guidance. She has never been married and had no inclination of ever getting married, to her marriage was the dreaded tradition that made many a women weak, bitter, and unfulfilled. Sandy lived in the world, the physical world, where fleshy desires and self gratification, self reliance, self determination and self importance made her feel strong and independent.  
   
Total opposites attract but Tom and Sandy are headed for a collision course that would make both their worlds tumultuous and shake the foundation lessons taught by spiritual leaders and the scriptures of their religious Faith.  
   
What is marriage:  
   
Marriage is defined as the Legal union of two or more persons, consisting of different genders or the same genders depending on which society, religious affiliation, county or region of the globe one lives in. It is an exclusive inherently binding agreement of commitment between the persons involved. Marriage is consummated between the individuals by conjugal/sexual acts binding them as one with the intent of reproducing offsprings. Marriage is naturally oriented towards producing and rearing offsprings which helps to create a family structure (note that the family structure is not predicated by being married nor does it define what a marriage is suppose to be) much like the normality (understanding) that fidelity and monogamy in some societies are imperative in defining marriage.
