If I'm The Night
If I'm the night, with my moon and stars,
A world so dark with scattered light shards,
If I'm the blanket that blots the blue,
Then what are you, my foil, to do?
Who are you, I'm forced to ask
As you encroach this perpetual dusk,
Your blinding passion upon me so fast,
Illumination brings love and lust.
And in my moonlit, icy breeze,
It's nothing new for the heart to freeze,
But you got through the maelstrom winds.
You banished the clouds and made the night end.
With the atmosphere clear, your sun rises high,
And with lightning strikes, you brighten my sky.
With no more tears, I look up your way.
You've encompassed my life
With the light of a new Day.
