Envy

Since we are nothing but the shadow of the one we expected,
Since by your absence, I am now affected,
Since I learned that lesson, that we forget too easily, when we believe too hard,
Since I got hurt in our love’s shards,
Since I am sad not to be as useful to your happiness, as you are to mine,
Since in other arms you now shine,
Since a green-eyed monster keeps growing inside me,
Since everything we believed in will never be,
Since you make it hard to smile, by making it hard to breathe,
Since the only thing I seem to do is seethe,
Let’s face it, the dream is over,
I can’t find anything to dover,
And I can’t stop my flame from burning tremendously,
This poem shall end, and your shadow haunt me heavily
