It's Never Truly Earned, the Right Way
To be better, to be worse
To stand above and feel no thirst
Dig down beneath
Inside the bodies' lost heat
Cleanse your poverty in their blood
Stand back and feel no love
Honored with knighthood
You've earned nothing that you should
But you'll never be torn down
Because the masses just drown
In all your bank appointed honor
And peer praised valor
Wring your hands of the filth and gore
That once came with being poor
Now you're a cut above the rest
Claimed to be one of the very best
But you've sold yourself for cheap
And didn't tell the police a peep
You're nothing but a disease
Cloaked with a currency called prestige
To stand above and feel no thirst
Dig down beneath
Inside the bodies' lost heat
Cleanse your poverty in their blood
Stand back and feel no love
Honored with knighthood
You've earned nothing that you should
But you'll never be torn down
Because the masses just drown
In all your bank appointed honor
And peer praised valor
Wring your hands of the filth and gore
That once came with being poor
Now you're a cut above the rest
Claimed to be one of the very best
But you've sold yourself for cheap
And didn't tell the police a peep
You're nothing but a disease
Cloaked with a currency called prestige
