Dreams Can Come True
I had a dream about you.
I remember laying down beside you. Your smile. Your eyes. Your lips.
You tell me you love me. And I look at you. I see warmth. I see kindness. I see the man I fell in love with looking back at me. I close my eyes for a moment. And open them. Smiling. Ready to lean in to you. Kiss you. Love you back.
But you changed. Your face is ripped off. Blood dripping from your chin. Skin teared away. Eyes pitch black. You smile wickedly. And yell, "Did you seriously believe I could ever love you?" Your voice is cold.
Then you get up. And just walk away. I try to get up and follow you. I just want answers. I want the man I feel in love with back. But chains appear. Holding me down. Pulling me back. Dragging me down.
And you just keep walking. You never even look back. You disappear.
