Battle Scars

Every waking second that passes, your memory vexes my cerebellum

I have attempted every technique available to eliminate your lovely face

You have long since exonerated us, yet like a cretin I continue to saunter

Why won't you evaporate and leave me to rejuvenate my inner peace?

With every breath I take, I taste the bitter yet sweet essence of you

Oh my dearly beloved why do I still possess this deep level of affection?

For you after all the hell that I have had to sustain just to keep us ablaze

The gift that you once gave me was one of a rare yet amazing nature

But it has faded and I have been left with the imprint of a harrowing scar
