True Love

 True love takes commitment, hard work,
selflessness, compromise and sometimes surrender
True love will lead you to put yourself second
And will lead your lover to do the same
Without these elements true love cannot be true
These elements are your testable evidence
If these things are not show towards you
Then you have to question their level of love
Regardless of your willingness to give all
Sometimes love is only a one way street
That kind of love is fleeting and will not last,
It will not last because it cannot last without these  
Without these, heartbreak will be the result.
Because the love being shown was not true love
It is true love that always should be sought
Anything else is less than second best
True love is rare and difficult to find
But a successful search is worthwhile
