Roses

There are times when you want to take others burdens from them, and care for them yourself
But burdens are roses
Once you have a hold of someone else's burden, you don't want to let go or give it back
So blinded by the good you're doing you don't realize the thorns that you've been pricked with
Only when that rose wilts regardless of how you handle it, do you let go
And you realize that you can't keep others roses alive
It's just a flower
It has no roots
From a bush of roses
We all have one to tend to
But you can't take other peoples' flowers and add them in
They won't live on the stem you've tried to graph them to
This is a sad and painful truth
Yes
But it just goes to show you
You can't spend your life trying to pick flowers
