Blind to Reason
Last night the longest of my life,
Tonight begins the wane.
Done with the "want" I wrench the knife
To redouble the pain.
For the future is sacred ground,
One I wish I didn't see...
Knowing. Just where we both are bound
With all she's done to me.
'Wonder could I still show a smile,
When truly dead inside?
Oh, it's taken me me quite a while...
I've finally lost all pride.
I dug and dug and dug and dug
Deep with my Virgo eyes.
Now truth won't be swept 'neath the rug.
Goddamn her fucking lies!
Disquiet on my laid-back soul;
It's all so different now.
For it's but love that pays the toll
For the sins we allow.
Pretend you're blind to reason,
What's real won't lie exempt;
Nor still in changes of season
With time held in contempt.
So now, the pointless plot been laid,
Trolling right along;
The color to my life is grayed,
And poisoned is my song.
To need that which she but pretends,
The curse upon my being.
To self, I'll never make amends
For all I'm finally seeing.
