Lost Life
I have never before felt so alone.
This emptiness fills me
From deep within.
I could be in a sea of people
And no one would notice.
Time flies and people come
And then they go.
But I stay, I remain
Feeling lost and abandoned.
I shake the tendrils of my heart
Towards the remnants
Of all I have left
But at the last moment
They take a step forward
One step further from me.
And I fall to the ground
Left behind.
While every one else lives
While they celebrate every day
I stand still in the center
And watch the blurs fly by
Wishing that if I reached out
One, just one, would come to a standstill.
Would notice me
And come to stand beside me.
But I know it’s a vain thought
Because if they never see me reaching
They’ll never know to stop.
How did I become so invisible?
And when did this become
The only life I know?
The only life I feel
I will ever know?
