On Every Street
I still think of him
and you'd find it relatable
that I'd swap right now
after all this time passed
deal him another chance
not sure what he'd think about you
but impressed I know he'll sure to be
and of the situation, amusing
How the years have turned some lucky enough to breathe
from girls and boys to men and women
And he'd not glance my way now if he saw me
we'd not go on any more adventures
the distance in years
to much time covered
but I would If I could
travel through space and time
back to the teenagers we once were
just for one more hour spent in his company
and I'd sit him down
buy those crisps he liked
seeing he'd probably still be banned from the indian shop
that blue was indeed now a colour to be proud of
though he'd find that hard to believe
tell him of futures to come
music yet to be heard
those passed away in their drug fueled sleep
those dieing on their feet
telling him all about you
though he'd ask after another as I knew he would
telling him what I knew though little
about the pains of falling in love and growing older
and that I'd see him again
that I'd not forgotten him
