The Only Sign
My life flies by me
I disappear in the crowd
But when I see you
And we lock eyes
My heart beats faster
It’s the only sign that I’m still alive
The only sign that I’m still here
You bring me back when I am lost
You bring back the light my eyes once had
If only you felt the same way
I am too tired to keep trying
Though some small part of me refuses to stop
But this constant battle in my heart
Isn’t worth the pain it’s caused
I can feel my heart ache and slowly break
But its time for me to stop depending on you
To get me through the tough times
And the rough days
You are my drug
Unknowingly killing me slowly
I wish you loved me
But deep inside I know you don’t
So for now I can only hope that one day
You’ll look at me the same way
I never stopped looking at you.
I disappear in the crowd
But when I see you
And we lock eyes
My heart beats faster
It’s the only sign that I’m still alive
The only sign that I’m still here
You bring me back when I am lost
You bring back the light my eyes once had
If only you felt the same way
I am too tired to keep trying
Though some small part of me refuses to stop
But this constant battle in my heart
Isn’t worth the pain it’s caused
I can feel my heart ache and slowly break
But its time for me to stop depending on you
To get me through the tough times
And the rough days
You are my drug
Unknowingly killing me slowly
I wish you loved me
But deep inside I know you don’t
So for now I can only hope that one day
You’ll look at me the same way
I never stopped looking at you.
