the searing black walk

 
Heavy, saturated sunlight     

dully refracting through the readily fragile plane of sky     

to be barred by the solipsistic horizon above me  

Below, the air is unstained, but thinly arid  

Fuchsia corolla crests the searing black walk  

and i look up.
