Part III: Mama's Custard Pie

It's been a long road,
too far gone,
I won't go home tonight,
I'm too far gone.

I'm sorry mama,
for letting you down,
You won't see me again,
For quite a long while.

I'm sorry mama,
The promise I broke,
When I said I'd come back,
Mama, Johnny's returned alone.

Mama, will you make me,
You creamy custard pie,
Of love and heart,
Mama, don't cry.

Mama, I'll miss it,
Your kitchen of love,
I'm feeling cold, mama
There's no one to hold.

Johnny's home, mama,
Please kiss him and smile,
He went through a long way,
To come back to town.

It's been a long road,
too far gone,
Mama, I said goodbye,
I won't come home.

I'm sorry, mama,
I was too slow,
But Johnny will tell you,
I love you so.

Mama, will you make me,
You creamy custard pie,
Of love and heart,
Mama, please,
You're making me cry.

It's been a long road,
I'm too far gone,
Mama, sleep tight,
I won't come home.
