Image for the poem Upon Wrinkled Linens

Upon Wrinkled Linens

She blew in like a cruel wind,
evening light glowing on the softness
of her cheeks, temptation & bitterness
filled my mouth with wonder

The cling in her dress,
was the beat in my chest
& I pictured it draping from a chair

Her dimpled laugh caught the shadows
around her curved lips, suddenly I was thirsty,
thirsty for the dark memories that played
upon her face

I vision her form,
her flesh flamed skin, hover over me
limb on limb
& the night ends upon wrinkled linens
