Hurt Me In The Name Of Poetry
It's okay
Go on and shatter me
I curl my lips in a sneer
Throw my head back haughtily
And really—
What have I to fear?
Not you!
Every tear of blood
I use to paint my roses
In sanguine hues of my misery
And then
It is you who elevated me
Fragility...
Able to bend or break
But the broken pieces
Glitter in the sunshine so pretty
So go on
I dare you to hurt me
Go on and shatter me
I curl my lips in a sneer
Throw my head back haughtily
And really—
What have I to fear?
Not you!
Every tear of blood
I use to paint my roses
In sanguine hues of my misery
And then
It is you who elevated me
Fragility...
Able to bend or break
But the broken pieces
Glitter in the sunshine so pretty
So go on
I dare you to hurt me

A daring work of verse indeed, though the weapon of words should never be unsheathed for the purpose of making one bleed. Let it be drawn instead to form letters of love that heal thy heart and warm the blood racing through your veins...
I like your tenacity and the imagery of you painting bloody sanguine roses after a battle though.

I've noticed after reading through some old poems that some of my best work was done when I was going through some shit.
Thank you for your feedback!:)

That is how it should be. Our deepest feelings always inspire our most sincere poetry...

Every tear of blood
I use to paint my roses
In sanguine hues of my misery ...
... Wonderful lines.
It's amazing how we can be bled out ... But the question is always: will you fight on?
Cool piece.

People think they get the best of you, when in fact, they bring out the best in you. :) If only they knew how they help inspire release leading to the pathway of healing. Joke's on them. I can definitely relate! Nicely crafted.
