Did you even care?
When we first met, you
seemed like a very loving
person. A nice young woman
I would spend the rest of my
life with. As time went on,
you and me grew apart. I tried
to understand when you said you
needed space. I even tried to
be compassionate. After a while,
you just got colder towards me.
An idea arose in my mind that it
wasn't anything I did. Did you
even care about me? Did you
care about us? Do you even care
that your decision could've sent
me beyond the brink of suicide?
If that line gets crossed, would
you even notice? How many times
will I make the same mistake
before I realize it's not worth it
to get involved with anyone?

Thank you. I didn't even see it coming when she left. It's like the warning signs were there. But I failed to notice.

Nice piece. The reason we date to discover if we are compatible, and see behind the façade. You capture the emotion when you get blindsided and possibly deceived. Life is a journey, keep searching.
