HeartBreaker

You said you could taste her on my lips, smell her perfume on my shirt.
You said you could; see the scratches of her nails imprinted on my back like my name on your heart and yours on mine.

You asked me if I loved her.
And I saw the tears filling up your eyes, I was afraid to answer, but you insisted. I knew if I told you the truth you wouldn't believe me and yes, I didn't love her.

I don't know the pain I've caused you, I don't want to look back on all the hearts I've broken, I thought I was past that and look now, you gave me your heart and I carelessly dropped it.

I'm a heartbreaker and I'm not at all proud of it, I was learning to love and I failed, but I've heard that if at first you don't succeed, try again.
Please give me another chance, a chance to mend your heart and a chance to prove myself to you.

I can no longer live on the fast lane and you can slow me down, that's what I want, you're what I want.
