They did the electric shock
On my dear sweet grandma
When I was still just a little boy,
Perforated her temples
And pushed thick silver
Threads of lightning into her brain
Before pulling them back out again
Like a twisted version of that pick-up-sticks game,
A cross stitch lobotomy
To fix her insanity
As her depression
Turned into dementia
And we watched from the sidelines
With forced smiles
And heavy hearts
As our beautiful angel
Was stitched back together
Like a raggedy ann doll.
