What Real Love Is

To me, it doesn't matter if you're gay,
I want to walk with you anyway.
So ignore the crowds,
Ignore the overwhelming voices that scream
Death and dismay.
My love is lost in their eyes.

Listen to me,
Listen to what I say,
You are my darling angel,
My sunshine,
My apple pie,
And I want you to hear me when I say
That I love you anyway.

They shout death in my name,
Their claims throw my name away,
So tune out their hate,
I am the one who keeps your fate.

Walk with me,
Walk all throughout the day,
I want to share my love,
My life,
My joy,
With you,
Brave boy,
Brave girl,
Listen to only me, I say.
Because
The voices that preach death in my name,
Do not remember who I died for.

And they do not make- you.
I made you.
I love you.
I treasure you.
You are mine.
For all time,
So listen to my voice,
The one you hear when your silence
Overwhelms you-
If you listen to my voice,
All the hate will melt away.

You are the apple of my eye,
My son,
My daughter,
We'll be just fine.
Listen to me,
As the hate fades away.
I love you more.
