It Begins
What if you were gone?
How would a single thought be accomplished?
Who are we kidding?
All these years.
The same beaten road,
Driven to the core,
Everything I've cried for,
I would sooner die for.
A single moment wasted,
Eyelids flutter,
Soul clutching,
Broken.
Which crossroads did we choose?
I can’t think back from here.
My thoughts are fuzzy,
I've been drugged by this life.
In the darkness,
Transposed to light.
We act brave and valiant,
Our smiles gleaming brilliant.
A facade to last the ages,
This fails to mask the nothing in your eyes,
It will be the end of us,
Not a word can be spoken as we watch it fall together.
How would a single thought be accomplished?
Who are we kidding?
All these years.
The same beaten road,
Driven to the core,
Everything I've cried for,

A single moment wasted,
