TearDrops

A bright red tear falls from her eye,
A tearful wish that he wouldn't die.
Alas she sits in an empty room,
Praying that God would show His hand soon.
Watching him now and praying to God,
I sit by his side in the thickening fog.
Sadly too soon, I watch him leave,
I hold onto hope in silent reprieve.
I beg and I plead, I offer my life,
I hear a whisper, "No. Not my wife."
I feel like Satan trying to tempt,
"Please show them you're here," was the prayer that I sent.
Exhausted she slept in a dreamless night,
She drove in a daze, ashamed of their fights.
She cleared the house but he wasn't there,
She tried his room thinking how life's unfair.
She slept again but when she awoke,
She was still alone wrapped up in his coat.
