You’re right to want me gone
You’re right to want me gone
You’re right to want me gone.
The many times I failed to see
How much I’ve changed, no decent man
In love, like I pretend to be
To you, my all, deserves to hold your hand.
You’re right to want to leave.
There’s hardly anything I’ve done
To make us work, and keep you here,
A rose, a kiss, a song or some’
That you’ll remember so you know we’re meant to be.
You’re right to go with him...
He’ll be a better man than me,
A kinder heart, a sinless dream,
A man whose promised word is real
And not a mask he wears to bed to get you in.
You’re right to want me gone.
The many times I failed to see
How much I’ve changed, no decent man
In love, like I pretend to be
To you, my all, deserves to hold your hand.
You’re right to want to leave.
There’s hardly anything I’ve done
To make us work, and keep you here,
A rose, a kiss, a song or some’
That you’ll remember so you know we’re meant to be.
You’re right to go with him...
He’ll be a better man than me,
A kinder heart, a sinless dream,
A man whose promised word is real
And not a mask he wears to bed to get you in.
