Running Around
Back and forth, back and forth,
You make me run in circles around you,
You have utter control, and will have nothing more.
I have no say, of course,
But sometimes,
I wish I did.
And I just keep running in circles.
Growing dizzy,
Falling down,
You really don’t care what I do,
As long as I keep running in circles around you.
I will do this as long as I live,
Never to be free from you.
So,
Tell me,
Why am I the one running circles?
Because this life doesn’t suit me,
And if I so chose it,
I could be as free as a bird.
But then I’d be flying in circles.
You make me run in circles around you,
You have utter control, and will have nothing more.
I have no say, of course,
But sometimes,
I wish I did.
And I just keep running in circles.
Growing dizzy,
Falling down,
You really don’t care what I do,
As long as I keep running in circles around you.
I will do this as long as I live,
Never to be free from you.
So,
Tell me,
Why am I the one running circles?
Because this life doesn’t suit me,
And if I so chose it,
I could be as free as a bird.
But then I’d be flying in circles.
