What is poetry?

I have been asked many times what is poetry,  
they ask for honesty and I try to do my best to complete this never ending quest,  
so here is my answer to this question.    
Poetry is emotions and every feeling one feels in a Song that has no music  
a song that has yet to have a voice to be spoken,a thought or a memory,  
written to rhyme with a deeper meaning than one will ever know,  
as time goes on it will be found and lost,  
it will be reiterated and told,  
but the meaning of this music will never unfold in a manner
 we cannot wish or dream of it will rise and fall,  
and as it attempt to be seen in a new light,  
or bring delight or tears to those who read it,  
like when the author wrote it every emotion displayed in a rhyme or rhythm,
it's fight will never stop.
