A Day  of Better Deliverance

A smoking journey through
The mist of tea-favored kisses
A shadow passes In the
Warm rush of leaves

A milk and honey voice
Sometimes borrowed, sometimes blue
Brings a sacred drowning in
A stolen pond

Stars go missing as heaven
Falls around my shoulders
A whisper of steam trails
Across my secrets

I lean in closer for another
Sip but drink in only air
My hands hold on frozen

Then I let go
