When Darkness Speaks
When darkness speaks to me it says I'm safe;
They can't see flaws I try to keep away;
Just like a cover made of finest lace,
There's only hints of me and where I stay.
When darkness decides to enter my space,
It never leaves a mess it's always clean.
If I share it with someone it's our place
to imagine and know what we might mean.
Darkness is like love for a small mistake,
It can make it disappear or wither,
For a time though, it's an illusion that's fake;
When light beckons us in to come hither.
Darkness is my special device to hide;
I fear light as if all my life I've lied.
They can't see flaws I try to keep away;
Just like a cover made of finest lace,
There's only hints of me and where I stay.
When darkness decides to enter my space,
It never leaves a mess it's always clean.
If I share it with someone it's our place
to imagine and know what we might mean.
Darkness is like love for a small mistake,
It can make it disappear or wither,
For a time though, it's an illusion that's fake;
When light beckons us in to come hither.
Darkness is my special device to hide;
I fear light as if all my life I've lied.
