Burning The Pain

Tonight I write upon the parchment
About the Hell she put me through
The years of torture and deception
To try to rid myself of memories
Of it all

I take it out to make it final
To end the pain and the torment
I take my lighter and set it ablaze
And watch it burn, burn, burn
Like the passion I once had

As it turns to ashes
I envision the memories ablaze
Burning to a crisp
Releasing the burden from me

There are words left unsaid
And they are said as it’s burning
Said over and over, again and again
The words to make me ok

“Burn the memories
Vanquish the pain
Make me once again become sane”

After it was gone I was relieved
Cause the burden that once lay upon me
Was gone forever to Hell
And I am once again free
