They don’t like you, but are too scared to show true colors
so they’ll do it behind you, and blame it on all the others
their greatest fear is to see the mob unite & rise as brothers
put you on a pedestal, suddenly respectable, if you follow orders
and entertain, might even visit you during the election campaign
but when the cameras left, tell me, who will be popping champagne
once successful, some suddenly forget from where they came
a generation caught on cane, no honor left, they’ll die for fame  
once so strong and powerful, but now all so tame, lost the flame
that is the reason why you remain - at the bottom of the food chain

before you start dancing, waving the flag and singing the anthem
you better wake up from ignorance and lack of understanding
look they’re laughing, you don’t even see how they’re expanding
meanwhile the masses are intoxicated with poisonous propaganda  
they twist your mind, no critical thinking, so you join in on the slander
study fashion & famous people, but oblivious to the genocide in Rwanda
buddy, where is the compassion, why so shameless and evil, I ponder

watch how the hypocrites gather in line to mourn
why do you think they only do it when the camera is on
don’t dig too deep, or you’ll soon be singing a swan song
the illusion of heaven on earth is long lost and gone
you need thinkers and warriors, not another Don Juan
because that is exactly why you are still stuck in the swamp
strength in numbers, so why don’t you stand up and stomp
