The Waves
The waves are her happy place,
We sit for hours and hold each other.
She looks at the waves
And says our love is like them,
For 'the waves never cease,
Only retreat then return stronger.'
The waves are liars,
They only pull you in,
Once in they drown you,
Sucking life from you whilst you grasp for hope.
But it's not the waves that lie
But those who lie by the waves.
She loves again,
As do I.
Love does retreat then return stronger,
Just in the arms of another,
I say our love is like the waves
As I lie in our old spot by the waves.
We sit for hours and hold each other.
She looks at the waves
And says our love is like them,
For 'the waves never cease,
Only retreat then return stronger.'
The waves are liars,
They only pull you in,
Once in they drown you,
Sucking life from you whilst you grasp for hope.
But it's not the waves that lie
But those who lie by the waves.
She loves again,
As do I.
Love does retreat then return stronger,
Just in the arms of another,
I say our love is like the waves
As I lie in our old spot by the waves.
