For My Love
Staying away seems so simple,
Easier said than done.
And yet every time I say that,
It somehow takes away all the fun.
We are apart now,
And yet we still talk.
You are with someone,
And at night, we walk.
You say that you feel happy,
Even though your eyes say otherwise.
You conceal your face with your hands.
Trying to hide all the lies.
I knew you were unhappy,
I even told you that you were,
But you said you were fine.
Now here I am a saboteur.
The last person you loved,
Now that one you will hate,
As I break apart your chains,
And tell you it was Fate.
I drop you off at your house,
Along with someone you don’t love.
My gut turns and twists,
As I look above.
The deed I’m about to commit,
It is all in good faith.
I cannot see her unhappy.
As my truth appears as a wraith.
“You should stay away,
Let her live her life.”
It says echoing in my head.
“I've tried giving her a good life.”
My intentions to me, may be pure,
But to everyone around.
It is all but that.
But by this curse I am bound.
Forever devoted to you,
I am your knight,
And you the queen.
Even though, my armor shines a black light.
I do this for you,
The only one I've ever loved.
Who I gave my heart to,
You are beloved.
“Only heartache comes from this,
Change your mind and leave.”
The wraith says in my head.
Oh, ghost, you are so naive.
And the clock strike two.
It’s almost time,
I walk by your place,
And there you are just “fine”.
We exchange pleasantries,
Smiling in each other’s arms.
And for the time being
I am your knight, protecting you from harm.
We continue to talk and laugh,
Then we talk about him,
And you look away,
And your face turns grim.
“He told me to stay away,
He thinks you’ll steal my heart.
And I told him that you already have,
And now he’s trying to tear us apart.”
“Then tell him how you feel,
Know that I’m the one you love.”
A tear escaped her eye,
That’s when I noticed what looked like a dove.
A bruise on her cheek,
Covered by makeup,
She knew I saw, wanted me to.
That’s the last straw, now he’s messed up.
I walk away and go to their house,
She follows behind.
I open the door to see a horrific sight,
What happens when the stars aligned.
He is caught with his pants down,
One unknown girl in his bed,
Surprise covers his face,
And embarrassment makes the girls face turn red.
After that it was a blur,
Everything became white then red.
And when I came to my hands were bloody.
For a moment I thought he was dead.
I only got a few good hits on him,
While my love got to take him away.
He is recovering in the hospital.
And in there he prays.
But don’t worry,
Everything is fine now,
My love and I are happy.
But you must be asking “how”?
Besides the bruise, he was a good man.
She just didn't like him.
But at the same time she did.
And so I made this hymn.
For a saboteur needs equipment.
And this time, mine was a girl.
She was innocent and needed money.
And she had a great body to twirl.
And when I put my pawn into play he didn't stand a chance,
For I will always win in the end.
No matter whose innocence is stripped,
Or the sound of a noisy bed.
She and I belong together,
And it is how fate wants it.
Though what I did was cruel.
And he caused the catalyst to be lit.
I will always be there to “help” her find love.
And she will stay with my forever.
And deep inside I know she wants to,
We’re just better off together.
Easier said than done.
And yet every time I say that,
It somehow takes away all the fun.
