Lost in what once was
In the distance the mountains white tips
edged in blue skies silenced my crazy thoughts
The ridges carved throughout time showed the roads
traveled by life and now mimic the lines on my face
Peace vacated my sight long ago
the majestic view dormant like all dreams
Where does hope and belief in humanity go?
How do you love from a place of only pain?
I look at the picture of the mountain now
and feel nothing
Lighting a match I watch it burn
like I've watched myself burn over time

an all too familiar journey :-(
Excellent write, pain and realisation - but if you can write about it like this it still shows a passion and therefore hope - liked it a lot :-)

The trials of pain and the toll it takes on the mind amazing way you put it as well

Also I feel the last line I've been there at one point still stays but the burn lessens over time
