diamond dine

I wear my plastic medal.
I wear my plastic crown.
I hold my plastic trophy.
I flaunt them all - I'm proud.

I wear my petty bracelets.
I wear my petty rings.
I display my petty trinkets.
I count them all - each thing.

you want it
all chunks and bits
deep underground
you'll have it
blunting picks
'til it is all found
(onto the next)
as good as yours
on all fours
dirt in nails
buckets of sweat
forgetting yourself
so that demand can be met
pressing on
and on and on and on
just to have it in your hands
(your mind is gone)
to feel it up, to lap it up,
each jagged piece
capsizing the cup from which
you drink
leaving you always thirsty
always lusting
