I Bit the Apple
I walked in the clouds
Barefoot, toes painted
Lollipop on my lips
Strawberry
And wisdom in my head
There's music in my head
Hauntingly sweet rock and roll
My dress tightly laced
Hair painstakingly messed up
My hands
Carefully placed
Behind me
But my insides are shaking
My fire waking
And Adam - he called himself that - showed himself to me
Beautiful - beautiful, dark Adam
And he took my hand
Handed me a luscious red apple
Caressed my cheek and called me Snow
He looked me in the eye
Said, "Trust me."
Trust?
Yes, a stranger you can trust!
A stranger I trusted,
I trusted and loved.
Call me foolish,
Call me dumb,
I still bit the apple.
And it tasted so bittersweet.
