Turn 21, the world shatters
I just turned 21
And the world seems to have been given permission
To attempt to put me in submission.
My days have been bright, yet long
Wonderful, but torturous
College beckons me.
Class after class
Page after page.
I will soon graduate
I have till December
To choose...
My fate.
Which step to pursue?
Shall I stay here?
Shall I reach for something out my grasp?
Will I chase my dream...
Will I surrender to circumstance?
Will I run full stride forward
Or cower
The pressure
It builds
In mind
In my heart
And thinking about it all
Is tearing me apart.
I stand here
At the fork of the road,
Each decision
Having a consequence.
Here
There
Everywhere
Nowhere
And the world seems to have been given permission
To attempt to put me in submission.
My days have been bright, yet long
Wonderful, but torturous
College beckons me.
Class after class
Page after page.
I will soon graduate
I have till December
To choose...
My fate.
Which step to pursue?
Shall I stay here?
Shall I reach for something out my grasp?
Will I chase my dream...
Will I surrender to circumstance?
Will I run full stride forward
Or cower
The pressure
It builds
In mind
In my heart
And thinking about it all
Is tearing me apart.
I stand here
At the fork of the road,
Each decision
Having a consequence.
Here
There
Everywhere
