The Unknowing

Only time will tell if it will be hello or farewell,    
I love you with every passing day,    
For if this is a mistake we both have to pay,    
Pondering thought after thought,    
How I wish I could rewind this clock,    
Is it really all as it seems,    
Or better yet just one more dream,      
Not knowing exactly what to say,      
Sometimes I wish I'd fade away,    
What's real and what's not,      
Now this being my single thought,    
Too much wonder is digging this hole,    
Into the dirt there goes my soul,    
Not knowing what's being withheld,    
My anticipation rising as the curtains unveil,    
Scorching hot as if we were on fire,    
I'd love to be your hearts only desire,    
I can only hope you feel the same,      
If not I just know it'll pour like rain,      
Did I put you up too high,      
Or will these sparks light up the sky,      
I would give anything for you,    
Steady praying you won't hurt me too,    
I don't mean to worry but it's steady flowing,    
Put on a mask and act as if I'm glowing,    
Can't live with a regret that I didn't try,      
Chance is where it's left but will I smile or cry,    
I yearn to have every piece of you,      
How you feel I wish I knew,    
You brighten the day with just one look,    
All my love it surely took,    
Now if I could have you forever,  
In the end we'd still be together,  
So many possibilities I know there are,    
Will I sink into an abyss or shine like a star,    
Pain or happiness is what the future holds,    
Should I trust in what I'm told,  
Am I ready for that conclusion,      
Or will it end with me left in confusion,    
Love comes around once more but will it stay,      
Perhaps that's the question for today.
