Lights.

Green, Blue, Flashing, Pulsing,
Beating to the bass,
Streaming through the speakers,
Into the ears of inebriation,
Bodies, Flowing, Pausing, Shaking, Bumping,
And nothing else matters, but here,
And now,
Orange light roars to the sky,
Voices reach out for more,
All at once,
Over and over,
Lights, Beating in my eyes,
Melodies alter,
Bodies freeze,
Tense, convulse,
And the lights stop beating,
Stop pulsing,
Stop breathing,
And now, all I see is the night sky,
Surrounding us,
Laying there,
Begging for light,
They're flashing now,
Blue and red,
Strobing in front of me,
I'm helpless, we're lost,
They lure me in,
Away, further,
And in this moment the lights begin to fade,
Breath,
Beat,
Speed up,
Slow down,
No balance,
No peace,
Just blinding lights in the dark,
I need to see,
I need to see the lights,
Back how they were when the music was fun,
But here and now,
That's pointless,
They're faster now and they won't stop,
Bodies shake,quiver, clench,
And fade,
Begging,
Begging for a beat,
Begging for a moment when it all just meant, joy,
But now, as the lights speed away,
And fade faster with every second,
My body,
My chest,
My light,
It aches,
Death is not a funny thing,
It is the absence of light,
Life,
The light in our life,
Fading, just as each breath,
This world is not kind,
And you must learn this on your own,
But not a speck of light can guide you without being wrong at least once,
Without diminishing at least,
Once,
But it's here, when the lights in our eyes,
Grow,
Fade,
Change,
And the music backs the breaths,
Or rather, the absence of them,
One light,
Strobing too fast for its own good,
Quivering in an unknown melody,
Loses the best,
Blue, Red, over and over,
But all at once, every light,
Every shimmering essence,
is gone.
